Applications

RFID reader applications

Where each reader fits in a real system: the card or tag, the interface to your controller or software, and the output format it needs.

Access control & card enrollment

Register new cards at a desk instead of keying in printed numbers. A USB card enrollment reader, or a keypad reader when the operator also types a user number, enters the card's ID in your access-control software with no driver. Ordered with the right output format, it types the same number your Wiegand door readers send, so the desk and the door agree on one number.

Time & attendance

An attendance system needs one reliable ID at the moment someone arrives. Our USB, RS232, USB-C and Wiegand readers read 125 kHz or 13.56 MHz badges and hand the card number to your software, terminal or spreadsheet.

Parking & vehicle access

Identify tagged vehicles at boom barriers, parking garage entries and site gates without drivers reaching out to a card reader. Our integrated UHF readers read EPC Gen2 windshield and headlamp tags, with rated ranges from 0–5 m to 0–20 m depending on model, tag and site, and pass the number to your barrier controller.

Livestock & animal ID

Read FDX-B and EMID electronic ID (EID) ear tags on cattle and sheep at the chute, the race, the feeder or the weigh scale. Choose an EID handheld with memory, a fixed EID panel reader with RS232/RS485 output for feedlots and weighing points, a USB desktop reader or a phone plug-in.

Pet microchip scanners

Read ISO FDX-B pet microchips at 134.2 kHz, and EMID tags at 125 kHz, at the consulting table, the shelter intake desk or a microchipping event. Choose an OLED handheld with memory and USB or wireless upload, a USB desk reader or a USB-C plug-in for Android phones.

POS, membership & loyalty

A membership or loyalty card only helps if the counter can read it in a second. Our readers read the card's ID number, or its magnetic stripe, and type it into the POS or CRM field on a Windows PC, Android terminal or iPad.

Inventory & asset tracking

Identify stock and assets by reading EPC Gen2 tags, without lining up a barcode for every item. Encode tags at a desk, count with a Bluetooth handheld, and log movements at doorways with a fixed reader.
