Why integrators choose the A530-U

  • One button, one cable — press to read, check the ID on the 0.91-inch OLED, upload over USB 2.0.
  • Works away from a PC — 128 records are stored in the reader until you upload them.
  • FDX-B and EMID — reads ISO 11784/11785 FDX-B tags at 134.2 kHz and EMID tags at 125 kHz.
  • Range by tag type — more than 5 cm on 2–12 mm glass tubes and more than 15 cm on 30 mm ear tags.
  • 110 g pocket size — loop-handle housing in black or white, powered by a 3.7 V lithium battery.

Who the A530-U is for

The A530-U is the entry-level handheld in the range: one button, a 0.91-inch OLED and a USB cable. It suits users who need to confirm a tag number on the spot and log a modest number of reads: breeders, pet shops, shelters doing intake checks, small farms and inspectors.

Press the button, hold the top of the reader over the implant site or ear tag, and the ID appears on the screen. Reads are stored in the reader, so it works without a computer nearby. There is no wireless pairing to manage and nothing to install on a phone.

Scan, store, upload over USB

Data leaves the A530-U one way: connect the USB 2.0 cable and upload the stored records to the host. This keeps the workflow simple for teams that scan during the day and update records at a desk afterwards.

  • Memory: 128 records, sized for short sessions such as an intake shift or a pen check.
  • Speed: read time under 100 ms, with a 0.5 s read interval.
  • Host software: no SDK is published for this model. Tell us your operating system and target software; how records arrive and in which format is confirmed in your quotation.

When to choose the A520-M or A540-M instead

Step up if range or connectivity is the limit. The A520-M reads glass microchips at more than 8 cm (A530-U: more than 5 cm) and adds real-time upload over 2.4G or Bluetooth. The A540-M reaches 30 mm ear tags at more than 25 cm, stores 6,000 records and adds a 1D/2D barcode imager. If staff already carry Android phones, the A220-C plug-in may replace a handheld for close-range reads.
