The L410-W is a waterproof, resin-potted wall reader for doors and gates that sends EM4100/TK4100 card numbers to access controllers with a Wiegand 26 or 34 input. It reads 125 kHz cards at 0–100 mm, outputs Wiegand 26 by default or Wiegand 34 with one wire change, and runs on 9–16 V DC. The H410-W is the 13.56 MHz MIFARE Classic version.
Available versions
The L410-W has a 180 mm lead with six color-coded wires. Connect it to the controller's reader port over shielded cable with a common ground; Wiegand runs of up to 100 m are supported.
| Wire | Function |
|---|---|
| Red | VCC, 9–16 V DC |
| Black | GND |
| White / Green | Wiegand data D0 / D1 (assignment confirmed with your order) |
| Gray | Green LED and buzzer control |
| Purple | Format select: open = Wiegand 26, to GND = Wiegand 34 |
If the controller logs nothing, or a number that does not match the card, the data lines are usually swapped or the two ends use different Wiegand formats. Swap D0 and D1, or change the purple-wire setting. The Wiegand wiring guide covers grounding and cable faults.
The three versions share the potted housing, wiring and Wiegand output. Only the card frequency changes, so choose by the credentials already issued on site.
All versions are read-only. Permissions live in the controller, so enrolling a card means registering its number there. If you are still choosing a card technology, read 125kHz vs 13.56MHz first.
In Wiegand 26 the reader sends 24 data bits between two parity bits: an 8-bit facility code (0–255) and a 16-bit card number (0–65535). Wiegand 34 sends 32 data bits between two parity bits. Set the controller to the same format as the reader.
The format decides how much of the card ID reaches the controller. An EM4100 card carries a 5-byte ID; Wiegand 34 sends the last 4 bytes and Wiegand 26 the last 3. For the ID 3A 00 9C 5E 41, the 10-digit number printed on many cards is 0010247745 (last 4 bytes), while a Wiegand 26 controller receives facility 156 and card 24129, often printed as 156,24129. On the H410-W, Wiegand 34 carries a whole 4-byte MIFARE Classic UID and Wiegand 26 carries 3 of its 4 bytes. Use the Wiegand 26/34 calculator to check that the number printed on a card matches what the controller logs.

Mount the reader on the wall or pillar next to the door and run shielded cable to the controller, keeping the Wiegand run within 100 m.
Connect red to the 12 V reader supply (9–16 V DC accepted), black to GND, and the white and green data wires to the controller's D0 and D1 terminals, with a common ground.
Leave the purple wire open for Wiegand 26 or connect it to GND for Wiegand 34, matching the format set in the controller. Connect gray to the controller's LED/buzzer output if you want it to signal access granted.
Present a card: the LED turns green and the buzzer sounds. Register the logged number in the controller software; if it looks wrong, swap D0 and D1 or check the Wiegand format.
Leave the purple wire unconnected for Wiegand 26, which is the default. Connect it to GND for Wiegand 34. No software, programming card or firmware change is needed; set the controller to the same format.
The L410-W reads 125 kHz EM4100 and TK4100 cards and fobs at 0–100 mm. For MIFARE Classic S50/S70 cards order the H410-W; the D410-W reads both bands (availability confirmed in your quotation). All versions read the card number only and cannot write or copy cards.
Up to 100 m of Wiegand cable. Use shielded cable and a common ground between reader, power supply and controller; long unshielded runs are a common cause of missed or wrong reads.
Yes. The electronics are sealed in black resin inside an ABS shell, and the specification describes the reader as waterproof, with an operating range of -25 °C to +75 °C for outdoor doors and gates. No IP rating is published, so we do not quote one. If your project specification requires a rated enclosure, state it in your RFQ.
It works with controllers that accept a standard Wiegand 26 or Wiegand 34 reader and can supply 9–16 V DC at up to 100 mA. Send the controller model with your RFQ and we confirm the format and wiring in your quotation.
